The Q(h)ubeka Trust was established on 4 March 2016 in a legal settlement between attorneys representing ex gold mineworkers. Spot’s involvement included tracking, tracing and the claims processing of all the claimants.
Spot implemented the CIMS (Claimant Information Management System) used by the Q(h)ubeka Trust to manage, store the medical records and compensate 4,365 mine workers screened and medically diagnosed for Pneumoconiosis. The project is the first of its kind in the occupational lung disease arena and is highly regarded for its methodology, delivery, functionality and reporting capability. The project took four years to complete.
